GGB Pittsburgh The Truth is Out There Brunch!
The Pittsburgh Chapter has no shortage of believers and truth seekers, and we proved that with our January brunch at the beautiful and historic Grand Concourse. Brunchettes showed up despite the threats of winter storm Jonas, and it was worth it. Wow, what a venue! The brunch buffet had everything we could ever thing of, from french toast to peel-and-eat shrimp. The fruit, the pastries, the made to order waffles and omelets! And those fabulous cocktails…we were floored.
After spending weeks revisiting the X-Files with our curated X-Files 101 episode watch lists (available for download here: X-FILES 101) and our viewing party, we were ready to celebrate the return of our favorite FBI agents to primetime TV. We gave our Brunchettes fun Mulder and Scully vinyl stickers from artist JaimeLeonard, adorable X-Files pins from Pins and Posters, candy cigarettes in honor of the Cigarette Smoking Man, and alien-themed cupcakes from our fav Pittsburgh Sweet Relief!
We raffled off even more goodies, including the X-Files Pop figures, a fun flashlight, and X-Files t-shirt. Brunchettes geeked out over aliens, conspiracy theories, and all manner of nerdy loves. It was so nice to spend time with familiar faces and get to know the new Brunchettes as well!
And last but certainly not least, a BIG thank you to the charming wait staff who took such good care of us at the Concourse. We will never forget how they played the X-Files theme song on that gorgeous piano as we walked out. We’ve never felt more loved by our amazing city, and that’s saying a lot! Thank you to the Grand Concourse, GGB HQ, our beautiful Brunchettes, and our stunning city of Pittsburgh!
In February we’re going Cretaceous in the Burgh with our Tea Rex brunch in an actual tea house, plus a visit to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History to see those dino bones! We hope to see you there 🙂
