Spring Into Geek Girl Brunch Raleigh/Durham

The Raleigh/Durham Chapter of Geek Girl Brunch has been traveling around North Carolina having a fun filled Spring! In April we hosted three different events!

First up was our Anime Brunch and Sushi making class over at The Nest in Raleigh, North Carolina. The girls had a blast learning how to make sushi rolls! And they tasted delicious!

We also took a day to head out to Pittsboro, North Carolina to Carolina Tiger Rescue! We had a chance to learn about each of the animals on tour, and how to help those still out in the wild. Ticket proceeds went towards helping the non profit rescue take care of the animals. Afterwards we headed over to the Chatham Beverage District where there is a cute selection of restaurants and shops! As we enjoyed food and drinks we made our plans for the Festival of Legends.

And our final April event was attending the Festival of Legends out in Holly Springs, North Carolina! This years festival was themed shiny things. We started off by getting shiny fairy hair done and laughed at a jester’s jokes as we waited for everyone’s fairy hair to be finished. Next we sampled local honey and wandered the festival enjoying all the different costumes. We were able to catch an aerial arts show and meet some of the birds from Claws. This was the first year GGB Raleigh/Durham has gone to the Festival of Legends, but we all agreed it should now be a yearly event we attend!

What’s next for Geek Girl Brunch Raleigh/Durham? Stay tuned for our recap for the rest of our Spring events! We hosted a Cinco De Mayo Brunch, our first Mommy and Me event, celebrated pride, and had our yearly board game meetup! And there’s much more to come as we start up our Summer plans!
