Girl Power: GGB Baltimore Celebrates Woman’s History Month

The ladies of GGB Baltimore ventured out to Iron Rooster in Hunt Valley, a first for our little group to head so far out in Baltimore County. We have been working more this year to try and do more diverse events in the surrounding counties this year and we continued that with March’s Girl Power brunch. Our group this month was small but mighty and we pigged out on the delicious homemade poptarts of Iron Rooster. Conversation of course drifted to Captain Marvel and the awesome 90sness of it all and how Fury lost his eye (no spoilers!).  We also discussed how gatekeeping the anime community is when it comes to watching sub or dubbed episodes and we all came to the conclusion that most of the people complaining about that in our generation at least have started with the liked of DBZ, Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing, Trigun etc all dubbed on Toonami back in the day.

Over all the brunch was a bit on the smaller this month but we are looking forward to seeing everyone again next month on April 27th!

VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ THE NEXT PARAGRAPH ABOUT NEXT MONTH’S BRUNCH

Next month for April, we officers have something a little something different planned. Evites have already gone out to those who have survived the snap so be sure to RSVP! But for the month of April we are going to be doing drinks, dinner and a movie for the very much anticipated Avengers Endgame. We will be going to Cinebistro and as soon as tickets go on sale on April 2nd we will let you know what movie time to buy tickets for. This will be an exclusive 21 and older event because the venue is also a bar and that is per the movie theater, no one under the age of 21 will be allowed entry. We may not be able to sit together in the movie theater but there is a large bar that we can hang out at before we go in for the movie. This will also be in the evening, a first for us here at GGB Baltimore and we can’t wait to see you all then!
