GGB Fairfield’s Annual Galentine’s Day Brunch
It was GGB Fairfield’s favorite time of year, Galentine’s Day! This holiday of ladies celebrating ladies has become a staple brunch for the Fairfield Chapter and we have created so many fun traditions.
This year marked our 3rd Galentine’s Day celebration and we gathered at King’s Breakfast & Lunch in Newtown, where all of our Galentine’s Day events have been held. We welcomed two new brunchettes this year on Galentine’s Day and inducted them into our important Galentine’s day customs.
Many of us started off by ordering hot chocolates – a mandatory part of the King’s experience. As we sat around the table eating our massive, delicious breakfasts, we talked about different conventions, comic books, tv shows, and everything in between. We even had a special visitor; last year this sweet elderly man came to our table and told us all we should be in Hollywood. Well, as luck would have it, he was there again this year and came up to us again to tell us that we STILL belong in Hollywood. It’s not too much to ask for this to become an annual occurrence, is it?
After we all finished eating, we played some Galentine’s themed games. Word scrambles, crosswords, and word searches. These games are always fun to play because we spend most of the time making up or finding new words and compete to find the funniest ones. We ended our day by writing a note to a fellow geek girl. These notes were to show one another how much we appreciate each other and lift each other up, because that is what Galentine’s is really all about.
