Geek Girl Brunch Gainesville Goes on Safari
Gainesville’s Safari Brunch
After a December break, Geek Girl Brunch Gainesville made its return with a wild theme, ready for a roaring good time. January’s brunch theme was safari! Brunchettes met up at Original American Kitchen for bloody Marys, mimosas and lots of coffee.
OAK was chosen as January’s venue because of its unique menu and large drink selection. Gainesville brunchettes ordered bacon waffles, green tomato salad, and mouth-watering benedicts.
A Gainesville brunch wouldn’t be complete without a swag bag. This month’s swag bag was put together by officers Emily and Megan. It included candy, hot cocoa, mini animal erasers, and the traditional rubber ducky. These safari ducks came in a variety of shapes: lions, tigers, elephants, monkeys, and explorers.
In Swahili, “safari” means journey. It has defiantly been a journey for officers Emily and Megan. Founding the Gainesville chapter of Geek Girl Brunch has started new friendships and new experiences. They are looking forward to 2019 and a year of great brunch!
