GGB Philly – The Triwizard Tournament Brunch

GGB Philly – The Triwizard Tournament Brunch

This October was our 4th year celebrating Harry Potter.  For GGB Philly, that meant it was time for us to honor the 4th book in the series, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.  Since the Triwizard Tournament is a big part of the fourth book we asked our brunchettes to select which wizarding school they wanted to represent in the tournament.  Out of Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, and Hogwarts we had 99% of brunchettes representing Hogwarts!  So brunchettes came dressed in their Hogwarts (and Durmstrang and Beauxbatons) finest to show their dedication to their school.

Triwizard Tasks

The first task during brunch was for each brunchette to choose a dragon egg.  Brunchettes were able to take home their very own dragon egg as a keepsake reminder of the tournament.  We then represented the second task with our delicious brunch swag bags!  Shark gummies for Viktor Krum partially transfiguring himself into a shark, bubble gum for Fleur Delacour and Cedric Diggorys mastery of the Bubble-Head Charm, and seaweed snacks represented the gillyweed used by Harry to give himself gills!  In addition, bookmarks and stickers rounded out the bags that our brunchettes really enjoyed.

Our beautiful maze centerpieces helped transport our brunchettes into the third task.  Brunchettes could navigate the maze to help themselves to family style pastries and traditional full english breakfast foods as well as french toast and pancakes.

GGBPhilly also had a Triwizard Quiz where 2 of our brunchettes had 3 different tiebreakers to finally name a victor!  Our brunchettes really know their Harry Potter trivia.

Raffles

One of our own brunchettes donated a handmade necklace as a fun raffle prize.  It was perfect for the theme of our brunch since it was made from a real book page from Harry Potter.  Please check out her etsy site: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ErinCaseyCrafts

Additional raffles included a Harry Potter themed cutting board, stationary, a copy of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and a Hufflepuff version of Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone.
