Geek Girl Brunch Cleveland – Anime Brunch

Geek Girl Brunch Cleveland goes anime!

This month’s brunch was held at Melt Bar and Grilled, in Independence, OH. There are several locations in Ohio now, but this one was convenient for our members to get to.

The food and service was amazing as always. Our members chose from one of their world famous grilled sandwiches, salads, and / or appetizers.

Everyone was talking about their favorite anime, and they wore their favorite to brunch.

After brunch, was the Unofficial Movie Outing. A few of our members went to the Cinemark in Valley View to catch Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom. And, the next day, our Book Club met at Cozumel in Independence to have dinner and discuss Fahrenheit 451.

Earlier this month, member Chandra held Game Night at her house, once again. The theme this time was Retro Games. Everyone was encouraged to bring a retro game of their choosing. And, once again, the event was potluck style.

Our Geek Girl Brunch Cleveland Crafters group kicked off their first workshop this month. There were 3 different stations for people to learn how to either crochet, loom knit, or knit. Everyone was really excited about this workshop, and were eager to learn a craft. Special thanks to Members Cassie S., Debbie G., Cassie Z., and Officers Katrina and Amanda for helping everyone get started on a path to learn something new, or help them finish a project they started.

Coming up in July:

Our chapter is having A Very Harry Potter Birthday party on July 14th. It is planned to be at a member’s house. And, our goal is to celebrate everyone’s birthday that day.
On July 15th, our Book Club will be meeting to discuss Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Unofficial Movie Night will be July 21st at Cinemark in Valley View once again. A poll will be created on the Geek Girl Brunch Cleveland page on July 1st to help choose what movie to see.
Game Night is scheduled for July 28th. There will be a special guest in attendance – the creator of the game Obelisk!
Our Official Brunch will be on July 29th. The theme for this event will be Heroes and Villains. And, it doesn’t have to be Marvel or DC related. It can be a hero or villain from any fandom!
