GGB Miami: Star Trek Brunch

GGB Miami: Star Trek Brunch

When we heard Bryan Fuller was creating a new Star Trek series, Geek Girl Brunch Miami immediately came to mind for May’s themed brunch! With Miami officers growing up in the 90s, Next Generation was a television staple.  A lot of the brunchettes are excited about the prospects of the new series, Discovery. The new series will air all 15 episodes of the first season on CBS All Access in September. We cannot wait to start a full on binge session.

We sent out a theme appropriate Evite: These are the voyages of the starship GGB Enterprise. To explore strange new brunches, to seek out new foods and drink mimosas, to boldly go where no Brunchette has gone before.

We felt it was a very popular brunch theme because of the cross generational aspects of the fandom. We had brunchettes that watched the original series with William Shatner and brunchettes that were familiar and in love with the new movie franchise with Chris Pine and others who loved everything in between. We ended up having such an incredible time! Not only did all the girls bring the Star Trek enthusiasm in their wardrobe, but things got Hot! Tea, Earl Grey, Hot! Our brunch spot was at Coral Gables trendy Tap 42. They were fantastic hosts! Tap 42 offers a delicious brunch menu and the $20 bottomless mimosas are extremely popular with our crowd. They set us up in what was basically our own room and had a live DJ playing. The Star Trek brunch turned into a dance party, in true Miami fashion! The mimosas flowed generously, the Rumlan Ale shots were tipped back, and a good time was had by all!

Swag Bag items featured: Romulan Ale shots, Galaxy make up bag, Tribute to Spock Steam Punk earrings, Live Long and Prosper charm and necklace, Admiral Command pin and NASA Space Tourism prints.
