GGB Cincinnati: Craft-tea Party
The Cincinnati chapter got our découpage on at our very first tea party event. Though it was a bit more coffee than tea, we’re going to call it a tea party anyway because “Craft-coffee Party” doesn’t have the same punny ring to it. We gathered at the Jo-Ann Fabric in Florence, KY with all of our supplies and snacks. There was a bit of a hiccup with our reservation of the classroom, but it thankfully worked out in our favor. We ended up with a much smaller group than we had anticipated, so it was a very cozy kind of meeting for the officers and another member. Our new officer, Paige, joined the small group. This gave us some time to get to know her a little better, and we’re sure all of you will love her.
Everyone brought different things to decorate with tissue paper, magazine clippings, book pages, and stickers. For anyone who isn’t familiar with découpage – it involves gluing paper to objects and adding different kinds of paint or other embellishments to create art or decorative pieces. For more information on découpage basics, check out this page. You can see what we made in the gallery below:
This is officer Amanda’s last event as she will be leaving to move to Oregon in early June. She has enjoyed meeting and spending time with all of you and hopes that the chapter continues to grow. Be sure to follow us on social media for updates about our next event. June will be our first brunch anniversary! If you’d like to become an officer or have any questions, comments, or concerns for us, send us an email at ggbcincy@gmail.com. We would love to hear from you!
