GGB Miami: Florida Panthers Game

GGB Miami: Florida Panthers Game

Being really big hockey fans (I know, who digs hockey in South Florida, amirite?), we were pretty jazzed when we found out that The Florida Panthers wanted to host Geek Girl Brunch Miami in their swanky Lord Stanley’s Loft. Since we don’t really know how to function unless there is some sort of geeky theme to any of our events, we decided to have all the girls attending wear their favorite wigs. We loved seeing the variety in colors and cuts, and that there was no denying we were all together.

We didn’t really know what to expect upon arrival, but were pretty flabbergasted when we saw the set up. We had an arial and perfect 360 view of the ice without any obstructions, and food and drink was included with our ticket. What? Yeah, you heard right.

We immediately took to filming some live footage for our social media accounts and acted like total fangirls (appropriate). We took full advantage of the food and drinks, and sat back and enjoyed the game. We also had a fantastic time catching up with each other as all three (yes, there are THREE of us now – meet Jenny!) of the Miami chapter officers are moms and don’t get much quality girl time. Best part of all of this? The Panthers won! This marks the first time I attend a game and that happens. I guess my curse has worn off over the years. 😉

The fun didn’t stop after the game ended, either. Our package included slap shots on the ice after the game, which had us all super excited (and a little nervous). We all did great, and I am going to assume we all got it in on our first shot (I mean, those nets were pretty close).

We had such a spectacular time and can not thank the Florida Panthers enough for this amazing opportunity. We love being able to host events outside of brunches that do not adhere to caps and also step out of the box.

Until the next geeky adventure,

Peace, love + geekery!
