Wizarding Brunch of Geek Girls Tyler at Cork – Accio Mimosas!
Magical moments were had by all at the Wizarding Brunch in November!  Brunchettes gathered at Cork Food & Drink in Tyler.  Since I (Jessica) am an avid Potterhead, I  must confess I may as well have had Felix Felicis in my mimosa.  Our numbers continue to grow, with multiple newbie brunchettes  attending our gathering, including yours truly.  The turnout included representatives from Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin; most likely because the Hufflepuff house were with Professor Sprout elsewhere.  To no one’s surprise, the Ravenclaws outnumbered all other houses…after all, we really are the cleverest witches of our age.
The Fantastic Feast
Wizarding Brunch selections included traditional classics with a Texas twist. Â It is unlikely that students of Hogwarts had experienced the famed “chicken and waffles” before. Â We are confident that Hagrid would approve; however Fleur Delacour…. not so much. Â Champagne was most definitely the potion of choice, with coffee a close second.
Well Mannered Frivolity
In addition to delectable dining, officer Sarah led us in trivia! Â It’s one of our favorite brunch activities since it allows the die-hard fans to geek-out…. and oh how we geek-ed out! Â One of our generous members donated the Illustrated Sorcerer’s Stone for the trivia winner!
Swag Bags
It must’ve been the spirit of Thanksgiving because we had LOTS of donations for our swag bags! Â Floo Powder ornaments (pictured here on my HP tree), chocolate frogs, HP character magnets, temporary tattoos, buttons, and more!
After Party
Post-brunch, we headed next door to the Times Square Cinema for “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.” Â If you haven’t seen it yet, we all enjoyed it very much! Â Therefore, I’m pretty sure all of us are asking for Nifflers or silver Occamy eggs for Christmas.
Thank you so much for all who joined us at our Wizarding Brunch!
Here’s to another successful month, can’t wait to see what the officers cook up next!
