GGB DFW Zombie and Horror Brunch

GGB DFW Zombie and Horror Brunch

We returned this month to one of our favorite locations, Via Real, to celebrate Halloween in all its spooky glory. Our brunch theme this month was Zombie and Horror, and many ladies sported gory faces and dark clothing.

After a few announcements, we ate our fill from the always-excellent brunch buffet – including an incredible spread of desserts and a chocolate fountain! Although some of the other patrons may have been surprised, others seemed to take the zombie apocalypse in stride. After all, the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) does have guidelines for the Zombie Apocalypse up on its website, so perhaps they knew what to expect.

The raffle items for this month’s brunch were beautifully artistic, uncanny, playful and everything in between, and we had a number of delighted prize winners! The items included Rocky Horror Picture Show posters, a Hannibal Lector pop!, items from Espionage Cosmetics, Walking Dead figures, items from the Tamerlane shop and Project Pinup on Etsy, and even original artwork by GGB officer Tiff. After brunch, we had a costume contest to allow our brunchettes to show off their creativity and talent. The fantastic cosplay ranged from Walking Dead characters (played by the Triple Threat Cosplay ladies!) to the personification of Halloween to Elvira, and the winner was Jenner the Zombot.

The officers announced that GGB DFW will be continuing its service to the community by participating in Extra Life, a 24-hour gaming marathon for charity, on November 5-6.

On a related note, our next brunch will be themed around Videogames, and we’ll be meeting on Sunday, November 13th, at 12pm, at Free Play Richardson, which has over 80 arcade games set to free play mode for us to enjoy as we geek out about our gaming obsessions! We look forward to seeing you there!
