GGB Philly celebrates one year together with BYO(Fandom) Brunch!
We’re excited to say we had a fantastic turnout at June’s BYO(Fandom) Brunch to celebrate our first year since launching the Philly chapter.
For this month’s event, we held an open-invitation picnic in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park, one of the largest parks within city limits in the world. Brunchettes came representing their favorite fandoms (BYO(Fandom) was created with this in mind!) with their picnic brunches, friends, and significant others.
A lot of our attendees even brought things to share, like these absolutely gorgeous cupcakes that Sam, one of our Brunchettes, made herself!
The weather was absolutely perfect for a picnic, although the four of us officers were worried that the weather would be too hot — it’s been baking recently in Philly. But we found a gorgeous place to set up outside Shofuso, the Japanese house & gardens in Fairmount Park, where we had plenty of shade.
Brunchettes also had the chance to enter a fundraiser raffle for 4 different mystery boxes curated by our officers! Brunchettes chose from “Avengers,” “Spooky,” “Star Wars,” and “Cute Things,” and the lucky winners loved what they found inside.
