GGB Philly Celebrates Favorite Rivalries

Rivalries: we all have them! It’s no coincidence that the GGB Philly chapter decided to celebrate rivalries in the wake of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s latest blockbuster, “Civil War” during May’s brunch. But instead of focusing specifically on the Team Cap vs. Team Iron Man saga (one of our favorite rivalries to discuss!), we expanded our theme to recognize all of our brunchettes’ favorite good vs. evil pairings (or evil vs. evil in some cases!).

We had nearly 20 brunchettes in attendance at our perennial favorite restaurant, City Tap House, and we saw a wide variety of fandoms represented, with everything from Batman vs. Superman to Daryl vs. Negan. In addition to a few awesome cosplays, our ladies rocked it out with a strong geeky t-shirt game and even had the chance to participate in a raffle for awesome Marvel-themed prizes (we gave away a sweet Star Lord mug and Marvel ice cube molds, among other things!).

All in all, after a couple hours of dining and drinking, our brunchettes left happily stuffed and ready to make peace with their rival counterparts, particularly in anticipation of our chapter’s 1-year anniversary brunch, coming up in June! Now that’s definitely something to celebrate!
