GGB Brighton enjoys Harry Potter Games!
The first GGB Brighton enjoyed Harry Potter games tasting delicious Armenian cuisine at Cafe Noor. The fun started at 12 pm on Saturday 25 despite the shower rains that were making it difficult for our brunchettes to arrive at the venue. In fact, one of them came pretty late (a combination of rain and going out from work). We brought games and super cute Harry Potter goodies as presents for our games. The goodies included: badges (from Gowen Illustration), a bookmark, stickers, and a Hermione Funko Pop.
While we were waiting for our brunchettes to arrived, we took some coffee and took some pictures of our treats. We had Destination and Trivial to use as games for the day.
Officers and Brunchettes gathered (except for one who arrived later on). And we started to plot our day of fun, after some talk about Brexit. That part was inevitable.
Three of us decided to taste Shakshuka, an Arminian dish that consists of baked eggs in a spicy tomato sauce with feta cheese & Merguez sausages, served with Pitta bread. (It was delicious!)
One girl went for the vegetarian Shakshuka. It had baked eggs with spinach and onions, served with Yogurt & Pitta bread.
One of us went for the vegetarian Lahmajoon, an Armenian Pizza with spinach, feta, onion & pine nuts. And one of our officers, Jackie, needed more time to wake up, so she decided to spend some more time with her coffee.
We also decided to taste some desserts of the day. (Amazingly delicious!)
And what goes well with another coffee? A sausage roll.
And a Cinnamon Danish!
And a chocolate brownie!
And so, after eating, we started with the games! The Trivial Pursuit: World of Harry Potter Edition can be tough, especially if you have the bad luck of getting the purple color side of the dice. Despite the purple, we had three grand winners. One of our officers got a badge: Slytherin!
Our next Trivial Pursuit winner got the bookmark!
Our next winner got another badge!
And then we went to play Destination! By this time two Brunchettes and one officer had to go back home, but our late brunchette joined us for the fun. (We spend quite some time playing this game).
Our officer Jackie won one badge.
Our brunchette from Finland won a badge.
Then our late brunchette won the Hermione Funko Pop.
And I was left with the stickers! (These are magical stickers that I will use to decorate letters. So, if you live in the US, and you know me, you might get one of these!)
According to plan, we then went to the comic book store to buy comics. Dave’s is the tiny local comic book store of Brighton, but they have all sorts of things, including Pops, comics, and games.
And so we bought some comics.
And stopped by a nearby coffee shop and drank some more coffee and eat some more cakes. And this was the last activity we had planned for our first GGB Brighton! (And then we decided to go to the cinema to watch Independence Day Resurgence… By this time we were two officers and two brunchettes left! )
It was a fantastic day! Next: Ghostbusters! See you all in July!
