GGB PDX – Civil War Brunch
The Portland chapter of Geek Girl Brunch met earlier this month for some tasty crepes and to see Captain America: Civil War together. The brunch was held at Chez Machin Creperie which featured sweet and savory crepes and of course, tasty mimosas and other breakfast drinks.
As ladies arrived, we chose a paper mask to represent a team; Team Iron Man or Team Captain America. Crayons were used to color in the mask which made for a fun activity. Who says adults are too old for coloring? The Captain America masks went faster than the Iron Man masks (of course), and afterwards, we showed off our works of art. Also on the table for grabs were cool temporary tattoos of our favorite Avengers.
After brunch, we walked across the street to a local (and historic) theater, The Baghdad, to enjoy the movie together. For those who haven’t seen it, the movie was nothing short of amazing and definitely worth a repeat brunch!
This brunch also pretty much mirrored our chapter’s very first brunch, which was held about a year ago this month. The officers are so very grateful for all the brunchettes who have been with us since the beginning, all the new brunchettes who are recently joining us, and all the future ones to come. We have made so many new friends and always look forward to seeing each other on brunch days. Our next brunch will be in June to celebrating the opening of a new comic book shop, Books with Pictures, in SE Portland. Stay tuned to our Facebook page and email inbox for additional information.
