GGB PDX – Get Your Nerd On Brunch!

In February the Portland chapter met for an all nerdy brunch at Punch Bowl Social. We encouraged all of our members to dress up in their favorite geeky attire so we could celebrate everyone’s favorite fandoms. It was fun to have a brunch where everyone could dress up representing their favorite aspects of geeky culture.

We had everything represented from Doctor Who, to Marvel, to Disney, to Harry Potter, and beyond. We always encourage our members to dress up as much or as little as they want. Since we had a few members heading to Wizard World Comic Con after the brunch they wore some really spectacular cosplay.

We played some nerdy trivia and gave away some great prizes! The trivia included questions about wrestling, comics, Disney, video games, and science fiction. Some of the questions were so hard that we ended up stumping a few of the brochette’s. But overall everyone had a great time!

It was a great brunch full of delicious food, drinks, and wonderful company. Our brunchette’s had a chance to make some new friends and talk about everything from our favorite TV shows to what comics we are currently reading. We are even lucky enough to have one member, Katie, opening a comic book store called Books With Pictures later this year. You can read about her story on OPB.

Thank you so much to Punch Bowl Social for hosting our group. We had a great time mingling, playing games, and enjoying the delicious food and drinks. It was great getting to meet so many new members and catch up with returning members after a few months.

We so grateful to the community we have in Portland, and can’t wait to see more geeky Portland gals at our next brunch!
