GGB Lubbock: Mad, Mad Villains!
For the month of March, Geek Girl Brunch Lubbock held a Mad Mad Villains themed brunch! Everyone was excited for the new Suicide Squad movie so we thought we would pay tribute to the Villains! Without them, heroes wouldn’t have anyone to fight!
This was our first brunch since before the Holidays as it had been a busy season. There were a ton of events to keep everyone busy and the local university means a lot of girls were gone when the semester ended so it was exciting to see everyone again and get back into the rhythm of things.
We took a journey down memory lane and visited Stella’s for brunch since a lot of ladies had missed out last time we went and we had a bunch of new members. Stella’s offers a special bunch menu, that changes monthly so this time around they had an amazing French toast, a breakfast flatbread, even carved pork chops! I can personally say the French toast was so yummy! It was 3 huge slices of bread, covered in mascarpone and a salted Caramel sauce.
Officer Cassie made a Harley Quinn perler bead figure to give away as well as a coloring book, and her daughter was gracious enough to donate 3 of her drawings she had done.
We had a great turn out and even met some new girls! Everyone had a wonder time chatting about different things. Lubbock recently had two local conventions that many of the girls attended and everyone is excited for all the new geek events starting up. A lot of the girls expressed their gratitude for having the brunches and getting the opportunity to step out of their comfort zones and interact with other like minded people. It’s been awesome to get together and meet so many new friends.
Living in a college town tends to make our holiday breaks long so it was great to meet up again and we can’t wait for our next one!
