GGB NOLA – RIP Alan Rickman

Like many other chapters, GGB NOLA made sure to take time to commemorate the works of an amazing actor.  RIP Alan Rickman was our 3rd brunch, and was a huge success!

For this event, we chose Brown Butter Southern Kitchen and Bar, which has a great Mid-City location. We were given the best seating for our event…we had 3 tables right in the middle of the restaurant!

For most Brunchettes, they chose to remember Alan Rickman as Professor Snape…there was no shortage of Hogwarts t-shirts, and a couple of members broke out their house robes!  One of our newer members, Morgan, had the cutest t-shirt with 4 different Rickman characters.

Our meals ranged from fried pickles to short ribs and grits.  Everything was amazing, and of course we enjoyed their $3 mimosas.

It’s become a GGB NOLA tradition to raffle off prizes, and this event was no exception.  We had members donate items to raffle (thanks so much Melissa and Christine), and our officers went above and beyond for prizes.  Members won hand-sewn sleeping masks, Jurassic Park lunch boxes (with wine inside!), a copy of Sense and Sensability, and an “Always” wall frame.

As it is with every brunch, our RIP Alan Rickman event was an awesome way to send a Saturday afternoon.  Thanks so much to all of our Brunchettes for coming out…we’ll see you at the next event!
