GGB Fresno: The Brunch Awakens…
…after dark because, Pub Crawl.
The Fresno Zombie Society did it again with another fantastic crawl. The subject was, of course, STAR WARS.
The beloved STAR WARS needs no introduction. George Lucas’s galactic universe has infiltrated our culture to the degree where even that nanoscale of humans who haven’t seen it are now familiar. In fact, while writing this I hear a stranger’s ringtone signaling that Darth Vadar is nearby. It’s an exciting time we live in where even the most divergent personalities can instantly connect with, “have you seen the new Star Wars?!?!”
One week before The Force Awakens was released we set out for the Star Wars Crawl in Fresno’s Tower District. The Geek Girls gathered at a nearby restaurant to full our bellies before the night’s adventure. The starting point for the crawl was a parking lot behind one of the host venues. A local radio station was there for entertainment while the attendees assembled into different groups. We stuck together and anxiously awaited the arrival of honorary Geek Girl, Princess Leia.
Together, we trudged along from bar to bar when we finally stumbled upon a new dance club aptly called FAB. The scene became quite animated as several groups from the crawl filled the space. It started to feel like the cantina where Han and Luke had their little meet cute. Despite their differences, Jedi, smugglers, princesses, and dark lords danced the night away.
Look at that Ewok get down!
It was definitely a night to remember and we can “only hope” that our future events will continue to be as FABulous. Thank you, Fresno Zombie Society. Until next time, may The Force be with you.
