GGB Nottingham Geekmas

The Nottingham Brunchettes ventured out on a very windy day to meet up for our Geekmas Brunch.

We missed some of the members from the last Brunch, but they were busy at craft fairs, selling their wares. However, we did get some more new members join us this time! How EXCITING!

We met in the Jam Cafe Cafe in Hockley. It is an independent business & we were happy to support it on Small Business Day. Bradley, the manager, was super helpful & couldn’t have been more accommodating. The Brunch menu was extensive, as was the cocktail & drinks menu. Some of the Brunchettes went for a full breakfast, but I went for my usual favourite, Eggs Royale! It was DELICIOUS.

We chatted about our favourite shows that we’re watching (including Haven, Continuum, Homeland, Sense8 & Supergirl), about what we were going to name our Sock Monsters, & lots more. A couple of our new members talked about their jobs as illustrators & storybook artists, which was very cool.

We all got a small party bag of Christmas chocolates, and one of our crafty Brunchettes made everyone a sock monster!

After Brunch some of our group had to go onto other missions, but some of us carried on with our now traditional visit to Mondo Comico, then a walk onto the Nottingham Christmas Market, which was very festive.

We had a great time, and will hopefully see everyone again at the next Brunch “Women in Comics”, to be held in February.
