GGB Atlanta – Bakerstreet Brunch
Bakerstreet Brunch
After having sci-fi, magical girls, and Legend of Zelda themed brunches, we wanted to have something for the book loving brunchettes, so a Sherlock brunch seemed like the obvious theme. The choice was elementary. We had many new ladies join us and the New York chapter’s paper fortunes served as fun ice-breakers to everyone to get to know each other.
The Venue
The location for our August brunch was The Old Vinings Inn, a small inn built in the 1880’s and a well-known Vinings landmark. It originally was used as a post office, but is currently used as a charming Southern restaurant. A few highlights from the menu include truffled mac n’ cheese lobster fritters, fried shrimp po’boy, shrimp and grits, and banana and hazelnut chocolate french toast. The food was delicious and more than filling. The staff was also very accommodating to our large party and even rearranged the private dining room so that we could have one large table.
Mystery Bag
Each brunchettes received a unique bag sewn by officer Celeste and an antique key necklace made by officer Elizabeth.
Plot Twist
Originally the after-brunch activity was going to be a trip to one of Atlanta’s escape rooms, but unfortunately all of them were booked for the day so a plan B was set! The adventure relocated to Main Event for a couple rounds of bowling and beer.
A big thanks to all the ladies who attended the brunch!
