GGB Austin Launch Tabletop in the Park
It was a beautiful and sunny day in Austin for the Geek Girl Brunch chapter launch. Our theme this month was Tabletop in the Park. We had our meeting at the Farmer’s Market in Downtown Austin, with plenty of local food to try out. We relaxed in the shade and played some great board games, with mimosas of course!
Everyone brought their favorite board game to play. We had a nice selection of games to choose from. First up was Exploding Kittens, which was a lot of fun. Who doesn’t love cats and board games? There was plenty of talk about favorite comics, TV shows, and movies. Â (One of our brunchettes playing Exploding Kittens.)
A fun time was had by all at our launch! Friends were made and games were played. Everyone is excited for next month’s brunch, which will be Doctor Who themed. Also a big shout out to Cards Against Humanity, Mothership Books and Games, Dragon’s Lair Comics, and Steve Jackson Games for providing goodies for our swag bags! Thanks to everyone who came out, and see you next month!
GREAT idea for a brunch theme! I haven’t ever played Exploding Kittens before – I know what my next game purchase will be.
I can’t wait until the next meet-up! I’ve got my outfit ready and am plotting stealing my son’s sonic screwdriver for the day…
What a super fun idea for a brunch theme!
