Brandi’s Origin Story:
Hey nerds! I’m Brandi: maker, foodie, animal rescuer, plant lady, book nerd, and overall geek! I grew up cultivating an obsession with Star Wars, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Labyrinth (Hello, David Bowie!), and The Princess Bride. On any day, you could catch me daydreaming of being Princess Buttercup or saving the galaxy as Princess Leia! I’m a lover of all things supernatural and weird. I love to play video games and explore the great outdoors with my husband! (I know, video games + outdoors, what??) I’ve recently started collecting comics and graphic novels, hello newest obesssion.
I’m so excited to see my little dream come true and launch the first chapter of Geek Girl Brunch in Richmond, Virginia! See you soon, Brunchettes!
Geeky Top Ten (in no particular order, because how could I?!) :
The Labyrinth, The Princess Bride, Harry Potter, Tudor History, Pokemon, Buffy/Angel, Outlander, Star Wars, The Magicians, Supernatural, and gaming (Skyrim, Tomb Raider)
Brunch Drink of Choice: sweet tea, hot chocolate
Geek Girl Role Model: I can’t just choose one! If I have to though, I still have to go with 2: General (Princess) Leia and April O’Neil!!!
I can keep going though…
Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff
Meagan’s Origin Story: Hey y’all! I’m Meagan, a deep south transplant to VA (I say “y’all” a heck of a lot!). I’m a baker, foodie, lover of all things autumn and Christmas, math and science nerd (I just love to learn!), sports nerd, just your average eyeglasses held together by tape blerd! I grew up playing video games, from Atari, to Nintendo, to Sega, to Play Station and Xbox; and I hope to start cultivating this passion again. I geek out over 90’s cartoons, Disney, Star Wars (Obi Wan is my guy and Yoda is EVERYTHING), Marvel, Power Rangers, anime, and Rom-coms (I mean, I’m a sucker for a Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan movie). On any given day, you could catch me baking or bingeing on Star Wars (lately Star Wars: The Clone Wars), My Hero Academia, Steven Universe, or . . . Christmas movies! I’m a lover of flowers, sweater weather and all the smells and colors fall/winter bring. I’m so glad to be a part of launching Geek Girl Brunch in RVA and meeting some geeky brunchette divas!
Geeky Top Ten: First and foremost, Star Wars! But seriously, in no particular order there’s Marvel, Harry Potter, My Hero Academia, Food Wars, Disney animated movies (Powerline is a hitmaker!), video and arcade games, romantic comedies, 90’s cartoons, and Power Rangers of course!
Brunch Drink of Choice: Mimosas
Geek Girl Role Model: Geez! Just one?! I definitely can’t just choose one so here they are: Shuri; the Dora Milaje; The General herself, Princess Leia Organa; and Princess Diana of Themyscira, Daughter of Hippolyta aka Diana Prince bka Wonder Woman.
Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff
