Meet Our Geeky Officers
Lover of pink. Self-rescuing princess. Retro video game player. Disney obsessed. Compulsive crafter. Spontaneous singer. Con-goer. Lover of all things geek.
I discovered the NYC branch of GGB brunch through a friend and decided that it was something that we desperately needed in Suffolk County. I see you all at cons, and video game stores and comic shops and I wanted to give us a space that’s just ours.
Geeky Top Ten: (in no particular order) Anything Super Mario, Retro video games, Disney, Star Trek (mostly TNG, but I love them all), Firefly, Doctor Who, TMNT, strategy board games, D&D, Musical Theater
Brunch Drink of Choice: Pomegranate Mimosas
Geek Girl Role Model: Felicia Day
Maryann Regina (aka Regi)
When our heroes are stuck in a detention center hallway, with no options and Leia grabs the blaster and says, “somebody has to save our skins”, it was as if a light bulb went off in my head. Princess rescuing the group? Taking decisive action? So cool. That’s how I got my start as a wee geek girl.
Anyway, I found GGB through Jessie. Working in tech I love any opportunity to not feel like Smurfette, and instead hang with a bunch of like-minded gal pals. Also, I adore brunch.
Geeky Top Ten: Star Trek, Star Wars, Firefly, Tabletop RPGs, board games Overwatch, Legend of Zelda, Jane Austen, Skeeball, Dabbling in Cosplay
Brunch Drink of Choice: Probably mimosa but if y’all are going to say mimosas, I’ll say Bloody Mary.
Geek Girl Role Model: Carrie Fisher
Priscilla is a first-gen Indo-Caribbean woman originally from New York City but has lived on Long Island for over 20 years. She has been a geeky girl all of her life, and has worked conventions all over the East Coast for the past decade. The Sorting Hat is still deciding if she is in House Ravenclaw or Slytherin.
Geeky Top Ten: Gaming (retro & modern), cosplay, conventions, karaoke, costuming, philosophy, astrology, fencing, travel, film, music, late night adventures, makeup & skincare
Fandoms: Sanrio (Hello Kitty & Aggretsuko), Studio Ghibli films, JRPGs, Disney, Legend of Zelda, Star Wars & Trek, Mass Effect series, the first 250 Pokémon
Brunch Drink of Choice: In polite company, screwdrivers. Among friends, whiskey and cola. Priscilla is allergic to beer and gin, unfortunately.
Geek Girl Role Model: Inara Serra, from Firefly and Sailor Mars
