Meet your officers:
“Anybody remotely interesting is mad in some way or another.”
Origin Story: Emily is a transplant from the east coast and love Portland so much that she pretty much went native the moment her feet touched Oregon soil. She’s currently managing a fairly unhealthy addiction of caffeine as the manager of a bakery and cafe downtown. Occcasionally she enjoys pretending to be someone else in front of large or small groups of people and is usually working on at least three different works of fiction at any given moment. When she’s not doing any of the above, she’s trying not to destroy her kitchen at home with new recipes, going on adventures with her husband, and politely asking her cats to get off the counter.
Geeky Loves: Captain America (and other Marvelous creatures), Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Hunger Games, horror movies, sci-fi, and anything else she can write fanfic for.
Brunch Drink: She’s anybody’s girl for a fresh take on a mimosa or a boozy coffee drink.
Geek Crushes: Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Kat Dennings, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Margot Robbie and Anthony Mackie
“I like being weird. Weird’s all I’ve got. That and my sweet style.” ― Maurice Moss, The IT Crowd
Origin Story: Shereen is a transplant from Arizona, but has lived in Oregon so long that she considers herself a native. She lives with her geeky husband and her dog. She loves to travel and as such has been blogging about budget travel and her personal trips since 2010. If you want to go anywhere in the world, Shereen knows the tips to get you there cheaper. She’ll never turn down a trip to a Disney park or Universal Studios and is a huge Potterhead. This Ravenclaw obsessively plans an annual Harry Potter Birthday party each year with new themes and difficult trivia for House Points.
Shereen is new to cosplay, but loves to attend as many cons in the Portland area as she can. She watches way too much TV, sees a new movie practically every weekend and is a proud member of the Portland chapter of the Harry Potter Alliance. If you also complete your friend’s sentences with song lyrics or movie quotes, or can equate any situation to Harry Potter, you are similar nerds.
Geeky Loves: Harry Potter, Disney, Walking Dead, Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool, Halloween, Horror Movies, British comedy, Clive Barker, Bill & Ted, Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Brunch Drink: A coffee big enough to swim in, if there’s whiskey involved, even better
Geek Crushes: Chris Pratt in pretty much anything (but especially GotG and Jurassic World), John Wick, Deadpool
“ The hardest thing in this world is to live in it. Be brave. Live.” – Buffy Summers, ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’
Origin Story: Amber was born on a Navy base in San Diego, CA. She and her brother were brought to Portland by their Oregon native mother when Amber was five years old (and they all have happily lived here ever since). As a social Justice Paladin, she volunteers when she can, will make you aware of many charities, and will discuss politics and current events at the drop of a hat. To survive, she currently works processing incentives data for those that update/upgrade their buildings and homes to save the environment and use less resources. She lives in Lake Oswego with her boyfriend, their dog (Finn) and cat (Rose). Her car’s name is JARVIS. Her favorite Portland Comic Book Shops are Cosmic Monkey, Bridge City Comics, TFAW on Broadway, and Future Dreams.
Geeky Loves: Doctor Who, MCU, Harry Potter, Dungeons & Dragons, The X-Files, Welcome to Night Vale, Star Trek, Star Wars, Firefly, Comics (Saga, Sandman, Tank Girl, Locke & Key, Persepolis, Marvel, DC, Image, Vertigo), Games (console, computer, tabletop, card, etc.), Astronomy, Cosmology, Gotham, The IT Crowd, Code Monkeys, Invader Zim, TMNT, Classic Cartoons (Jem & The Holograms, She-Ra, Transformers, etc.), Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Witch Hunter Robin, Serial Experiments Lain, MC Frontalot, Jonathan Colton, Optimus Rhyme, Freezepop, The Aquabats, William Gibson, Clive Barker, The Night Circus, Wil Wheaton, Tanith Lee, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Paranormal Romance, Lego, Akira, Howl’s Moving Castle, Johnny Mnemonic, The Matrix, Bill & Ted, Bones, Wonderfalls, Neil Gaiman, Charlie the Unicorn, Weird Al Yankovic, Labyrinth

“The way forward is sometimes the way back…” – The Wise Man, ‘Labyrinth’
Origin Story: Emilie’s origin is a debated subject, even amongst her own family. Her grandmother used to say that she just dropped out of Wonderland one day and was in a place where previously she was not. But others believe her to be a mermaid, and this certainly holds up with her hometown being Seaside, Oregon. Moving to Portland as a pre-teen, Emilie was a shy child that threw herself into ancient cultures and old history. It was in trying to understand her then-boyfriend’s LARPing hobby that Emilie crossed over from the “slightly peculiar, obsessed with olde tymes” girl into the “full-fledged geek queen” she is now. Throwing the boyfriend to the side, she dove head first into roleplaying. Now, she has started her own production company, filming Dungeons and Dragons games for Twitch and YouTube, and plays horror video games. Until that pays its own bills (a production company isn’t cheap!) she drives rideshare and delivers packages that very easily accommodates her aggressive convention schedule (15 conventions for 2019! Here we come!)
Neil Gaiman, Mercedes Lackey, Anne Rice, Shakespeare, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, Harry Potter, old-tale Fairytales (The Blue Book, The Green Book, etc), The Night Circus, Call of Cthulhu, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, His Dark Materials, Dungeons & Dragons, Arkham Horror, Red Dragon Inn, those amazing stupid train resource games, Firefly, Gotham, The IT Crowd, Invader Zim, Labyrinth, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Dollhouse, Iron Man, Nightmare on Elm Street, slasher movies in general, Friends, American Horror Story, Comics (Vertigo, Dark Horse, Hellboy & BPRD, Tank Girl, Sandman, horror comics), Gaming (console and PC, mostly RPG or horror related), American McGee’s Alice, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Outlast, Diablo, League of Legends, Wil Wheaton, Felicia Day, Matt Mercer, Bendysnatch Cumberbun, David Tennant, Robert Downey Jr, faeries, mermaids, ghosts, zombies, werewolves, vampires
