The Phoenix Officers
Stefanie is a marketing manager, fantasy writer, part-time dogsitter, and die-hard Phoenix Comicon fan. She loves to cosplay her favorite characters at con, like Wonder Woman/Elektra/Clara Oswald/something steampunk. Growing up as an avid life-long reader and fan of sci-fi, fantasy, and YA, Stefanie recently began self-publishing her own fantasy book on Chanillo, called Untested. Every month you will find her cheering on Dean Ambrose and the other superstars of the WWE for their pay-per-views. When she’s not reading or writing, she’s probably shaking it in Zumba class.
Doctor Who, Star Wars, X-Men, The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Infernal Devices, WWE, Star Trek: TNG, Marvel, DC, The Fullmetal Alchemist, Coffee.
Latte or Mimosa
Edward Elric/the Fullmetal Alchemist – but I’ve got my eye on you, Gajeel/Fairy Tail!
It was 4 years ago when Chantel finally released her inner geek. She spent countless hours playing Halo, created her first Link costume, and was introduced to the world of Marvel; since then she never turned backed. Chantel enjoys reading, collecting stuffed animals and figurines, a noob in the comic department, a runner, and always planning her next trip to Disneyland. Lastly, Buckbeak is her spirit animal.
Favorite Fandoms: Harry Potter, Disney, Marvel, Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers), Spider-Gwen, Star Wars, Cats, The Legend of Zelda, Halo, Gilmore Girls, Rocket Power.
Apple juice or Dr. Pepper
Master Chief…gear and all
Nicky’s geekiness was cultivated as a young girl through hours of NES and Super Mario Bros., and eventually her gray Gameboy and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. As a teen she was introduced to Ranma ½ and Sailor Moon on VHS through her soon-to-be-boyfriend-eventual-husband. As a young adult she fell in love with Kakashi Hatake and even went on to write Naruto fanfic. Today, geekery is part of her daily life because of her many fandoms and her two teenage daughters who are also about that geek life.
Nicky is Standing Rock Sioux and Navajo. She is an activist for Native American rights, a fat activist, and is a plus-size fashion blogger at RedstreakGirl.com. You can find her playing board games, biking, at the Phoenix Comicon, and binge-watching the latest Netflix series.
Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Twilight Trilogy (my guilty pleasure, don’t judge), Interview With The Vampire, Legend, The Princess Bride, Marvel cinematic universe, Star Wars, Game of Thrones – Jason Momoa is my sun and stars, and Bush the band.
Cranberry Mimosa or Caramel Macchiato
Kakashi Hatake *swoon*
Michelle grew up obsessed with a space scoundrel and a little beeping droid, but in secret as it was not acceptable to be a geek; especially a female geek. Thankfully, times have changed and the geek flag flies with a proud vengeance. Michelle, when not working as a payroll processor, is often binge watching something on Netflix, plotting out her next cosplay with her girlfriends, fangirling over Loki and the Winter Soldier, and contemplating Pinky and the Brain style world domination. An avid reader, her Kindle is always by her bed with at least two books going. She is an admin for the Westside branch of the Blue Ribbon Army, the geeky social club of Arizona, and is always up for an event planning or three.
Star Wars, Marvel Cinematic Universe, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, boy bands (NKOTB for life), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Wonder Woman, Disney
Trevor Belmont from Castlevania. (Only because I just started watching Anime and Castlevania is the only one I have finished.)
Sara became a geek when she was just a young girl. She started with video games on the Atari and the original NES. She is still quite obsessed with retro gaming. She has an unhealthy obsession with Godzilla and even runs an instagram and Facebook page for her Godzilla’s travel.
Sara enjoys long walks on the beach, cheesy b-rated movies, and gaming until the sun comes up. Her hair is constantly changing, though she is on a rainbow unicorn kick lately.
Retro Gaming, Supernatural, Doctor Who, Star Wars, Godzilla, Harry Potter, just to name a few.
Fruity mixed drinks or unsweetened ice tea!
Godzilla counts right?
