Meet the Denton Officers!

Victoria

victoriaVictoria is a big ol’ geek. She has a corgi-jack named Holly Short (named after Artemis Fowl’s nemesis.) She has lived in Denton for over a decade. Her other hobbies include crafting just about everything and anything under the sun, baking large quantities of sugar, reading sci-fi, fantasy, & mysteries, & playing board games. She works full time at a local outpatient facility. When she’s not brunching, she’s napping, her favorite way to wrap up a Sunday.

LoraLora

Lora is an original geek! She was a geek before being a geek was cool.  Usually an outcast in school but overcame it by reading lots of sci-fi/fantasy books.  She has watched every episode of every series of Star Trek and was inspired as a child by Uhura and decided at an early age that she wanted to be an astronaut.  Her head is still in the clouds and would love to live on the moon someday and totally believes that she will see space travel in her lifetime.  Her favorite Geek Girl is Penelope Garcia and says that is who she wants to grow up to be some day!  She also considers herself a beer aficionado.  She can often be found enjoying a good craft beer at different local bars in Denton.  Her favorite being the Bearded Monk.  She loves all sports but her favorites are hockey and baseball.  She works full time with ACTIVENetwork in Dallas.

Geeky Top Ten: Star Trek, Star Wars, Quantum Leap, Dr. Who, Battlestar Galactica, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The X-Files, Firefly, and Stargate.

Kristy

My wife and I lived in Denton for 7 years  and have recently moved to Dallas.  She happily supports my geeky tendencies…which are many!  We have 2 cats(rather they have 2 humans).   I am a huge geek who geeks out about anything you can geek out about…..apparently I geek out about redundancy as well.  🙂  I teach high school social studies and have a lot of hobbies like cosplay, quilting, crochet, reading, cooking, classic gaming and movies(my collection is pushing 480!).  My wife and I love history, traveling(stopping at all the historical markers of course), hiking, camping and volunteering.  I am a volunteer for an LGBTQIA youth group. I love to read and listen to audio books while I quilt and make my cosplays.  Stephen King, Jim Butcher, Margaret Atwood and Mary Roach are my favorite authors.

Amanda

Amanda is the resident otaku. She’s even got a black cat named Sebastian after the well known demon from Black Butler and two anime themed tattoos. Amanda is a new comer to the Denton area and loves all the quirky, hidden places to explore. When she’s not geeking out over her favorite anime/manga Amanda enjoys working out at the gym, walking her two dogs Latte and Toppy, or playing a fun game of D&D. Harry Potter was the first series Amanda can remember fangirling over at the young age of eleven (she might still have a small crush on Rupert Grint). Amanda is perusing her passion of helping people as an Occupational Therapy Assistant at a nursing home.
