Raised in South Alabama along the Gulf Coast by her grandmother Amber had plenty of opportunities to escape into a land of pure imagination and was often encouraged to embrace the things that made her weird. After school if she wasn’t outside roaming the neighborhood on her noble bicycle, ruling Egypt as Cleopatra or vanquishing the neighborhood boys along with her sisters; you could find her lost in the pages of a book. Her older brother introduced her to videos games (Mostly Tony Hawk, Call of Duty and Super Mario) and she can’t remember a time before Disney movies. As she grew older Amber discovered that she could create worlds much like the ones in the books she read and began writing. She has yet to finish any of her stories and if asked will gladly share them with you but will insist that they are a work in progress, never to be finished.

As an adult her love for Disney has only grown, video games are a much more serious affair and she is always game for a random adventure with friends. She is constantly improving on her zombie apocalypse plan and is currently taking applications for her survival team. In case of an apocalyptic emergency Amber is not the one to make decisions! She is incredibly indecisive and if given too many options tends to freeze up like a windows 98 operating system.

When she isn’t being harassed by her boyfriend about the correct pronunciation of the word orange, they enjoy random conversations about history, watching documentaries and the occasional outing downtown.

Chandra grew up in a sleepy town in L.A. (Lower Alabama) with a love for all things science fiction, supernatural and out of the ordinary. She has learned to exist in this reality as not only a Trekkie in a Galaxy far, far, away but as a hobbit in need of a Dothraki horde, that loves Dr. Jones. It is rumored she could be part Na’vi but she is only 5’3. So for her it’s all about perspective. Her and her husband are raising 3 children to learn the way of the force and they collectively pamper 2 fur babies. Working with adult muggles and their babies is her day job but at night she is dreaming of a world where chickens can cross roads freely without question.

By day, Suzanna is a payroll clerk, but after 3:00pm she becomes “Suzy, the girl who is entertained by anything!”

Suzy is a geek of all trades in her eyes.  She doesn’t just limit herself to one specific fandom but has very eclectic tastes in entertainment.  To coming home from elementary school to watch superhero cartoons, 90’s Nickelodeon shows and Golden Girls to now doing the same thing but on Netflix.  If there is a Marvel/DC, Star Wars or Harry Potter movie in theaters, Suzy has seen it opening weekend possibly more than once.  She has been known to talk for hours about Game of Thrones, COPS, The Vikings, South Park, Sons of Anarchy, anything Disney and RuPaul’s Drag Race (guilty pleasure) etc.  You name it, she’s watched it.

Suzy also enjoys the simple things in life like going to thrift shops and finding treasures such as old board games and vintage t-shirts, reading the books of which movies are based off of in order to judge the accuracy, or going out to a cinematic adventure with her fellow geeksters.  Also, if you are ever in need of useless trivia knowledge, she’s you’re girl.

Geekalious Top 10: Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Disney movies, Harry Potter, The Office, Parks and Rec., Marvel comics/movies, Musicals, Really old books and RuPaul’s Drag Race. (Again, guilty pleasure.)

Brunch beverage of choice: Coffee, always and forever.

Geek Girl Crush: Jim Hopper, Khal Drogo and Torrmund!

Hailing from the bustling metropolis of Tallahassee, Florida – Chesleigh Anne (Chez-Lee) seemed to stay on the move quite a bit at a rather young age.

It wasn’t in the wind that she discovered her true self though, but within multiple hospital walls. A two-time cancer champ, Chesleigh took to reading and watching movies in order to seek a life outside her own. And it was there that she discovered new adventures and treasures just waiting to be found.

Now twenty-two years later she’s still on quests (on a grander scale that is), never coming across a stranger she couldn’t call friend and from what it appears, making her way through the color wheel one hair strand at a time.
