GGBPhilly – March – Captain Marvel

GGBPhilly – March – Captain Marvel

I’ve been fighting with one arm tied behind my back, but what happens when I’m finally set free?”

Carol Danvers

We had a great turnout of ladies eager to celebrate strong women for our March brunch. Members who were eager to see the first women led Marvel movie loved the Captain Marvel theme of brunch and a movie.

GGBPhilly members met for brunch at Redstone Grill in Plymouth Meeting, then headed to see Captain Marvel at a nearby theater. Brunchettes showed up in their finest marvel gear to really get into the spirit. Each brunchette took home a Captain Marvel tote bag to mark the occasion. Several members also took home great raffle prizes donated by our officers and members.

During brunch we discussed the upcoming movie and what we were hoping to see from Captain Marvel. We also challenged our Brunchettes with a quiz to see who could identify the most female characters/actors from their pictures. Several of our brunchettes really knew their stuff, and even had almost perfect scores! Brunchettes received bonus points on their quiz for knowing that Goose the cat (or rather, Flerken) was known as Chewie in the comics.

During brunch the subject of escape rooms came up, and we found that a lot of ladies love them! Brunchettes shared tips/tricks about rooms they completed in the past, and also shared ideas for new ones to do together. A GGBPhilly outing to a local escape room is definitely in the cards for our Brunchettes sometime later this year.
