GGBNN July Marvel Brunch
For the month of July, Newport News Brunchettes met up for a Marvel themed brunch at Cracker Barrel. After a day of rain, the skies opened up, and the sun shined upon our Sunday brunch! Officers Jennifer, and Jessi welcomed 5 new nerd misfits into the chapter, with 7 ladies in attendance.
Black Panther word searches and Marvel character word scramble activities kept the ladies busy as everyone arrived.
Officer Jennifer provided swag bags for the brunchettes that included a Marvel character Pez, a pencil with a Marvel character pencil topper, and a laminated Marvel comic bookmark (a clue to next month’s brunch theme). As a special bonus to the Swag bags, Espionage Cosmetics was supremely generous in providing comic themed nail wraps for all the ladies!
Brunch Business including introductions, and discussion of next month’s brunch theme were covered over a table full of yummy delicious brunch goodness! Lively conversation was had about the new trailers recently released at SDCC 2018, including Shazam!, and the live action release of Mary Poppins. August’s GGB theme “Blind date with a book” prompted conversation about the cut throat business of library sciences. (Of course all of those who have read Nightvale know of the dangers of the library ).
As always, good food, great conversation and good company was had by all!
