GGB DFW Galentines Day and Disney Villainesses

GGB DFW Galentines Day and Disney Villainesses

This month, the GGB DFW area brunchettes met for our second annual Galentine’s Day celebration! The theme this year was Disney Villainesses to encourage some outrageously evil costumes. We celebrated our female friendships without any of the nefarious jealousy of the villainesses, though!

The food was delicious as usual, starting with the scrumptious giant cinnamon buns. In fact, our server remembered us from last brunch and even made some Doctor Who jokes! We had options ranging from traditional breakfast to salmon to burgers, all of which were delicious. In addition, we had our usual mimosas, bellinis, and bloody marys.

The best part of the brunch was the valentine exchange … I mean galentine exchange! Brunchettes used paper bags and some fancy paper, scissors, and tape to create valentine boxes. Some ladies even made creative valentines out of the paper. Other valentine sets included Mad Libs, candy, art, and temporary tattoos. One creative brunchette even wrote villainous messages on a set of Disney princess valentines!

We had some deliciously sinister raffle items this month, inspired by the best of the villainesses. The prizes included an Ursula-themed makeup set, a set of villainess shot glasses, some tentacle-covered nail sets from Espionage Cosmetics, an Ursula bag, and a villainess lip shine set.

The costumes were stunning this month! We had at least two ladies killing it as Cruella, and several more with creative takes on Ursula, the Queen of Hearts, and Regina, among others!

Cosplay this month was especially strong!

Next month, our brunch will be BBC themed – Doctor Who, Sherlock, Black Adder, Broadchurch, and more! We will be meeting on Sunday, March 5, from 12 to 2pm at Via Real, one of our favorite locations. Please join us to celebrate the amazing shows and characters that have come to us from across the pond!
